Crypto-asset risk warning
Required disclosure under EU MiCA Regulation
Crypto-assets are highly volatile, largely unregulated, and you may lose all the money you invest. Past performance is not a guide to future performance. Self-custody puts the responsibility for safe-keeping your assets entirely on you.
What you should know
- Volatility. The value of crypto-assets can fall as well as rise, often by large amounts within hours. There is no central authority that stabilises prices.
- Loss of access is permanent. If you lose your seed phrase, you lose access to your funds. There is no “forgot password” flow. We cannot recover keys for you.
- Irreversible transactions. Once a transaction is broadcast to a blockchain it cannot be undone. We cannot reverse mistakes, refund payments to the wrong address, or recall transfers to scammers.
- Limited consumer protection. Most crypto-asset activity falls outside the protections that apply to bank deposits or regulated investment products. Compensation schemes such as the FSCS or DGS do not apply to non-custodial wallets.
- Tax obligations. Buying, selling, swapping, or earning crypto-assets typically creates taxable events in most jurisdictions. You are responsible for your own reporting.
- Smart-contract risk. Swaps routed through 0x interact with on-chain smart contracts. Bugs, exploits, or attacks against those contracts can result in loss of funds. We do not control or audit upstream contracts.
- Phishing and scams. Bad actors may impersonate icrypto.money or send links that look identical. Always verify the URL bar shows
icrypto.money with a valid TLS lock. We will never ask you to enter or send your seed phrase anywhere.
- Network outages. Blockchains can congest or fork. Your transactions may take longer than expected, fail, or be re-organised. Funds remain yours but timing is not guaranteed.
Our role
icrypto.money is an interface, not a custodian. We do not:
- Hold customer funds.
- Match buyers and sellers (swap aggregation is performed by 0x against on-chain liquidity).
- Provide investment advice.
- Operate as a regulated investment firm.
We charge a transparent 0.25-0.35% fee on swaps that is sent to a treasury address controlled by the operator. Our service is software you can audit. Source code is MIT-licensed.
Before you continue
By using the wallet you confirm that you understand and accept the risks above. If you are not comfortable with any of these, do not deposit funds into the wallet. Consult a licensed financial adviser before treating crypto-assets as part of a serious financial plan.
